The Home Office has launched a digital e-visa system to replace the BRP (Biometric Residence Card). With this new system, which is expected to be implemented in 2025, your visa information will be digitally linked to your passport and you will not need to carry a physical card. You can easily complete your e-visa application by following the steps below.

Step 1: Go to the Official E-Visa Website
Go to the official UK government e-visa page by clicking on the link below: https://www.gov.uk/get-access-evisa and find the following heading on the page and click Start now.

With this new system, which is expected to be implemented in 2025, your visa information will be digitally linked to your passport and you will not need to carry a physical card. You can easily complete your e-visa application by following the steps below.

Step 1: Go to the Official E-Visa Website
Go to the official UK government e-visa page by clicking on the link below: https://www.gov.uk/get-access-evisa and find the following heading on the page and click Start now.

Answer the 3 questions that follow.

Step 2: Create an Account
1. Fill in the required personal information (1. name and surname, 2. nationality).
2. Select which document you want to log in with (passport or BRP), enter your date of birth and follow the instructions to verify your email address.
3. Click “Create an account”.
4. If you already have an account, you can log in by clicking sign in.

When you click on the Create an Account option, you will be asked for your date of birth, your BRP information and the email address you will use to log into your UKVI account, please make sure you enter an email address that you have access to.

If you don’t need anyone else to access your account, you can also say no to this question.


You can check your answers and create your account by clicking “Create Account”.

After creating your account, you need to verify your identity by logging in with your BRP number and the code sent to your phone or email. When you log in, you will see this screen, you can start your e-visa application by clicking Start.

Step 3: Set Up Your Digital ID
You will be asked to verify your identity using one of the following documents:
⦁ A valid passport with chip (for automatic scanning).
⦁ Biometric residence card

You need to scan your passport or biometric card with your smartphone or another device with a camera by clicking on the ‘Confirm Your Identity’ heading. To do this, you need to download the application below to your smartphone and first match the application and the account you opened on your computer using the Connection code or QR code.


Once the pairing is complete, your account on the computer will be logged out so that you can authenticate from the App. You can follow the steps in the application, these steps are as follows;

⦁ Taking a photo of your BRP card
⦁ Scanning the chip on your BRP card by holding the phone over it
⦁ Scanning your face
⦁ Taking a photo of yourself on a white background (this photo will be used in your e-visa)


After the verification process is completed, you need to log in to your account again (https://www.gov.uk/get-access-evisa)

After logging in, you need to continue answering the sections below such as “Your location, contact preferences”. The ‘Account security questions’ section in section 2 will ask you the security questions you will need in case you cannot access your account. Each section will say ‘Completed’ next to it when completed.

After completing the final declaration section and being sure of your answers, you can submit your application.


After the process is completed, an email will be sent to the email address you used for application stating that your application has been received . When your e-visa is ready, you will receive the following email and you will be able to access your e-visa by logging into your account using the link in the email . Your e-visa will be digitally linked to your passport or travel document and you will not need a physical visa or BRP card.
